What AI Apply's Interview Buddy does
Interview Buddy listens to the interviewer, transcribes the question and suggests an answer, on desktop (Windows and macOS) and on mobile.

It handles general questions well enough: behavioural, culture fit and motivation. What it does not do is coding. There is no screenshot capture, no coding mode and no way to upload a file, so a HackerRank or CodeSignal assessment is outside its scope.

Coding and online assessments
This is the biggest gap. If your process includes an online assessment, AI Apply cannot help with it. Solvro's Coding Test mode captures the problem with CtrlShiftS (once per screen, up to 20), sends it with CtrlEnter, and returns the approach, complexity and code in over 10 programming languages. MCQ mode does the same for multiple-choice screens.
Personalisation and models
AI Apply's interview assistant does not say which model it uses, and you cannot change the prompt. Its resume tools use ChatGPT-4o, with ChatGPT-5 on the Pro plan.
Solvro answers from your resume, the job description, extra context and your own instructions, and you choose between Gemini 3.7 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Claude Sonnet 5, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Fable 5.
Staying out of the share
AI Apply's desktop page calls Interview Buddy undetectable, but its demo video shows the mobile version, and it does not explain how the desktop app stays out of a screen share. Solvro is specific: it sets the operating system's content-protection flag, which excludes its window from screen capture and recording, and it runs outside the browser.
Check the rules first
Most employers and assessment platforms prohibit outside help in their terms. Solvro keeps its window out of screen captures, but no tool can promise it will never be noticed, and breaking those rules can cost you an offer. Decide for yourself whether that risk is worth taking.
Pricing

AI Apply's desktop Application Kit Pro is $29 a month or $12 a month billed yearly; it includes an interview prep tool for practice. The live Interview Buddy is sold on mobile, weekly ($12.99 a week, about $65 a month) or yearly (about $9.60 a month).

There is no free trial: you pay before you can try anything. Solvro starts with a free trial, then:

Our verdict
For most candidates with an interview coming up, Solvro is the better choice. AI Apply is built for the application stage; Solvro is built for the interview itself.
- Coding Test and MCQ modes, where Interview Buddy has no coding or multiple-choice help.
- Answers from your resume, the job description and your own instructions, with the whole conversation in context.
- A free trial of 10 answers and 10 Interview-mode minutes, where AI Apply has none.
AI Apply may still suit you if you are still applying and want resumes, cover letters and auto-apply in one place.
Competitor plans, prices and features are summarised from public product pages and reviews and change often; check each vendor’s own site before you buy. Product names are trademarks of their owners. Solvro is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
