Coding only, or the whole loop
Ultracode AI covers coding and system design for engineering and data roles. It offers no help with behavioural questions such as "tell me about a time you handled conflict", so most loops leave you juggling two tools.
Solvro covers the whole loop in one app. Coding Test and MCQ modes handle the online assessment, Interview mode handles the conversation, behavioural questions included, and Query mode explains anything else you capture. CtrlShiftSpace switches between them.
Model quality on hard problems
Ultracode starts in a light Quick Mode that is fast but often shallow on harder problems such as tree traversals or concurrency; you switch to Reasoning Mode by hand with a shortcut when the interview changes gear.

Solvro names every model and lets you choose: Gemini 3.7 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Claude Sonnet 5, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Fable 5. A Gemini model answers a warm-up question in a moment; Claude Opus 5 or Fable 5 takes a hard dynamic programming problem. CtrlShiftM switches between them.
Answers that sound like you
Both tools take a resume. Reviewers find Ultracode's answers still read like templates, recognising your background without weaving in your projects. Solvro uses your resume, the job description, extra context and free-form instructions in every Interview-mode answer, so a question about a past project draws on that project.
On screen during the interview
In a reviewer's test on Windows, Ultracode AI's icon stayed in the taskbar even with its window minimised, and its answer panel is opaque and fixed, covering part of the editor.

Solvro's window fades with CtrlShift] and CtrlShift[, hides instantly with CtrlSpace, moves with the arrow shortcuts, and sets the operating system's content-protection flag, which excludes it from screen capture and recording.

Check the rules first
Most employers and assessment platforms prohibit outside help in their terms. Solvro keeps its window out of screen captures, but no tool can promise it will never be noticed, and breaking those rules can cost you an offer. Decide for yourself whether that risk is worth taking.
Pricing

Ultracode AI sells one plan: lifetime access, discounted from $1,799 by a countdown promotion (we have seen $899 and $799). That is a large up-front cost for a search that usually lasts a few months, and it covers coding rounds only.
Solvro is a subscription you can stop at any time, or a pass for a single interview week:

Our verdict
For most candidates, Solvro is the better choice: one app for every round, without a $799 to $899 licence.
- Behavioural, technical, multiple-choice and coding rounds, where Ultracode AI covers coding and system design only.
- Live audio as well as screenshots, so spoken questions are answered too.
- All five models, switchable at any time: Gemini 3.7 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Claude Sonnet 5, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Fable 5.
Ultracode AI may still suit you if you only face coding rounds and like its ThoughtFlow explanations.
