Five names come up again and again:
- Solvro: live help for the questions you could not predict, plus fast research while you prepare.
- Interview Warmup by Google: quick, free question practice (retired in 2026).
- Pramp: live peer mock interviews.
- InterviewAI: generated questions with feedback and analytics.
- Big Interview: video practice with AI review.
1. Solvro
Solvro is a desktop assistant for Windows and macOS. It is built for the interview itself, not for rehearsal: in Interview mode it transcribes the conversation and answers each question within seconds, drawing on the resume and job description you added; in Coding Test and MCQ modes it solves what you capture from the screen.

It is also useful while you prepare. Query mode answers anything you type or capture: paste the job description and ask for the ten questions most likely to come up, ask it to turn a project from your resume into a STAR answer, or capture a past assessment question and ask for the approach. Then rehearse those answers out loud.
- Best for: tech, finance, product and consulting interviews where questions get specific.
- Not for: recorded mock interviews or speech coaching. Solvro has no mock-interview mode.
- Price: free trial of 10 answers and 10 Interview-mode minutes; Pro $29 a month; Pro+ with Interview mode $49; Sprint Pass $24 for 7 days.
2. Interview Warmup by Google
Interview Warmup was the easiest way to start: no account, no download, pick a field such as Data Analytics, IT Support or Project Management and answer out loud. It transcribed your answers and highlighted key terms and repeated phrases. Google retired it in April 2026.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Free, no sign-up | Only Google's chosen fields |
| Instant feedback | No live interviewer |
| Good for quick sessions | Basic feedback; now discontinued |
3. Pramp
Pramp pairs you with another candidate for a live, timed mock interview, and you take turns as interviewer and candidate. Topics include data structures, algorithms, system design and behavioural questions, and an AI summary after each session points out gaps in clarity, structure and depth. New sessions now run on Exponent Practice.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Real people, real pressure | Scheduling can be tricky |
| Free | Quality depends on your partner |
| Human plus AI feedback | Limited topics |
4. InterviewAI
InterviewAI generates technical, behavioural and situational questions for a chosen role and difficulty, reviews each answer straight away for tone, clarity and structure, and tracks your strengths and weak spots on a dashboard.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Custom question generation | Some features need a paid plan, from about $30 a month |
| Instant, detailed feedback | No live interviewer |
| Progress analytics | Limited industries |
5. Big Interview
Big Interview is video practice. You record answers from its question library, watch them back, and get AI feedback on pace, clarity, tone and body language, with progress tracked over time.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Real video practice | Paid, from about $40 a month |
| Detailed AI feedback | Needs a webcam, feels awkward at first |
| Tracks progress |

A one-week prep routine
- Day 1: paste the job description into Solvro's Query mode and list the likely questions. Add your resume and the job description to Solvro's Settings.
- Days 2 and 3: draft STAR answers for the behavioural questions; rehearse them on video with Big Interview, or out loud on your own.
- Days 4 and 5: two peer mocks on Pramp or Exponent, one technical and one behavioural.
- Day 6: a practice call with a friend using Solvro in Interview mode, so you know how it feels to glance and speak.
- Day 7: rest, review your notes, and check your setup.
If your interview is next week rather than next month, Solvro's $24 Sprint Pass covers exactly seven days with every model and mode.
Check the rules first
Most employers and assessment platforms prohibit outside help in their terms. Solvro keeps its window out of screen captures, but no tool can promise it will never be noticed, and breaking those rules can cost you an offer. Decide for yourself whether that risk is worth taking.
Frequently asked questions
Start from the gap. For practice under pressure, Pramp or Exponent. For delivery, Big Interview. For questions tailored to the role, InterviewAI or Solvro's Query mode. For help during the interview itself, Solvro.
Yes. Rehearsing out loud makes questions familiar, and knowing a live assistant is there for the unexpected question takes some pressure off.
Not always. Pramp is free, and most tools have a free tier or trial. Solvro gives every account 10 free answers and 10 Interview-mode minutes.
Yes. InterviewAI and Big Interview cover many fields, and Solvro's Interview mode works for any role because it answers from your own resume and the job description.
